ArcGIS Online is a cloud-based platform that allows users to create, share, and analyze interactive maps and spatial data online. Accessible from any device with an internet connection, AGOL is designed for collaboration and ease of use, and sharing GIS work with a broader audience.
ArcGIS Pro is a desktop GIS application designed for advanced spatial analysis, data management, and 3D visualization. It offers a broad set of tools for detailed geoprocessing and integrates with other ESRI products.
How to Obtain
Licensing
ESRI software is licensed for use by MIT faculty, staff, and students on both MIT-owned and personally-owned machines for use in education and research, on up to three computers at the same time by the same person.
Access Online
Users access ArcGIS applications by signing in with their organization credentials (Touchstone authentication required) through the website below.
MIT's ArcGIS Login (Touchstone authentication required)
- Once logged in online users are issued a Professional Plus Named User license to their mit.edu email which provides access to ArcGIS Pro Advanced.
- MIT's agreement specifically prohibits all administrative use of ESRI software.
